Final Show

a. please outline your plans for what you will be showing (please give lots of details even though I know most your ideas, with 19 students it can be difficult to remember exact details!)

My final project will be presented by an installation, which is consisted of video, interactive sensor, dinning table and chair.

Basically, I wanna use the meal to represent the different relationship of humanbeings. It will be seperated into two parts: the physical object and the virtual projection.

I will set up a dinning table and a chair as the main physical objects in this installation. The dinning table will be seperated into 2 parts: half is real, and the other half of the table will be extended and be displayed in the video. The video will be played on the wall or the fabric screen. In addition, I will put a real round plate on the table to be projected the video of meals.

The audience can be involved into this installation, sitting on the chair and triggering the video to start. During playing the video, they can have the virtual meal with the character who sits on the opposite side of the table, having meals in the video. At the same time, the audience can experience the different relationship through diffferent meals which be projected on the plate and the table.

Specifically, in terms of the interactive part, the ultrasonic sensor ( above the screen on the wall) and the infrared sensor (underneath the table) will be operated when people walk closer to the installation according to the distance. The distance of the audience will trigger the character, who is in the video, to give them the different reaction.
